Akinbobolas favourite TEDx talks

Hello guys, call me Akinbobola. I eat and I know things. Today I want to share 10 TED & TEDx videos I think you should absolutely check out. Join me in exploring the world of ideas.

First off you just know as a Nigerian we have to start with Chimamanda Adichie. Her talk is titled ‘The Danger of a Single Story’. Like it or not, Chimamanda is one of the loudest and most eloquent voices out of Africa today. If you haven’t watched it, stop reading this, go do that and come back.

Have you watched it now? If you have then you deserve to read the rest of this post.

Next up is ‘The Price of Shame’ by Monica Lewinsky. We live in a world where privacy is continuously being viewed as subject to public consumption.

Have you heard of Wolframalpha? Well if you’re a STEM major you should check it out. In this video, Stephen Wolfram introduces us to the world of computational complexity.

Cohbams Asuquo is a blind Nigerian creative breaking barriers in the music industry. Watch his inspiring TEDx talk titled – ‘The Gift of Blindness’

Quantum Physics isn’t that hard to grasp, or is it? Watch this tedx talk by Dominic Walliman titled ‘Quantum Physics for 7 year olds’ which is exactly what you think it is.

Is time travel possible? by Colin Stuart.

12 year old App developer | Thomas Suarez. If this doesn’t move you to do something, anything, I don’t know what will.

Chimamanda again, just because and also I agree with her – ‘We should all be feminists’

Boys, Sex and Control by Lola Shoneyin. Powerful stuff, gets you thinking.
